Kai enjoys playing guitar (Hero). Or, rather, he wants us to play the guitar while he taps along on the other one. Every once in a while he will put the thing down and run to whichever of us is not playing and make sure we know that there is music and there are guitars.
So I've been in a posting slump recently -- not a whole lot of tech going on for me right now. I will collect my thoughts and get back to it, though, I promise!
Quickie: More great games are coming to Xbox Live Arcade for the 360. My favorite of the list is "Eets: Chowdown", which I saw at PAX last August. It looked like a lot of fun, and they said it was coming to XBLA, but it's been a while so I forgot about it.
...no, not the show. As in "...are here again!"
You must buy things from Costco. There is just no way around it. In April -- April -- I bought an Xbox 360 bundle from Costco. A couple of weeks ago the 360 gave me hardware failure grief, and I despaired, because I was going to have to have it serviced through Microsoft and pay them a hefty sum.
Nope.
A few people suggested that I return it to Costco, which has a very generous return policy, in exchange for a new one. I didn't have the receipt, so I was hesitant, but Costco has records of my purchases, and that wasn't a problem.
The short version is that I now have a new Xbox, which is working well, and I am finally able to play Contra again. More importantly, I am really enjoying Gears of War. Mmmm.
Crap. Today I was going to play a little Call of Duty, which I borrowed from Dave, so that I'd have brainspace for Gears of War, which GameFly shipped to me today.
Nope, it's not to be. My Xbox 360 exhibited both screen-freezes and the "red lights of doom" problem, signaling a hardware failure of one magnitude or another. Best yet? My Xbox is not under warranty any more, so I've got to pay for the repair.
...of course this is right after I got Contra.
-sigh-
